About the Role


We're seeking a commercially focused and hands on Finance Manager to join our New Zealand business. Based in Christchurch, you'll partner closely with operational leaders and the corporate head office to manage the finance function in country and support strategic decision-making.  The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent commercial acumen, and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.


Responsibilities

  • Financial Management and Reporting - Completion of month end processes, lead the preparation of annual financial reports, ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting, oversee balance sheet reconciliations, and monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting – Partner with operations to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Payroll – Oversee the payroll function.
  • Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements, and statutory obligations.
  • Business Partnering - Partner with operational leaders to drive commercial outcomes, provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, promote continuous improvement across financial systems and processes.


What You’ll Bring  

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or business; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferable).
  • Experience as a senior finance professional within a large resources, construction or manufacturing business.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-driven and outcome-focussed mindset.
  • Practical and strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to teamwork and delivering high-quality outcomes.


Role Details

  • Location: New Zealand, Christchurch
  • Roster: Monday to Friday | Occasional monthly site travel
