Finance Manager - International Operations
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Mondays to Fridays, but flexibility will be required to accommodate various time zones.
As the key finance representative for all International Operations, new and existing, this is an exciting role working directly with a well established and high performing team of accounting professionals. The role is agile and dynamic and well suited to an accountant who enjoys both statutory compliance along with the challenges of International commerce, exploration and growth of new business. The successful candidate will be a self starter who takes responsibility for the set up and delivery of multiple deadlines and deliverables across the globe.
Key responsibilities include:
- As a lead member of the International Entities Working Group, coordinate finance and commercial input with the aim of streamlining systems and processes and avoiding duplication of effort across key functions.
- Establishment of initial finance and tax compliance services in conjunction with Fortescue tax, treasury, procurement, HR/payroll, and legal teams and appointed accounting firm.
- Develop processes to allow for timely establishment of finance functions (establishment of SAP companies, cost centre, capital projects and tenement reporting) for new international operations.
- Coordinate the preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts for international operations.
- Provide monthly and quarterly management reporting for international operations, and provide finance and commercial advice to Fortescue’s Exploration and Business Development teams, including in respect to deal structuring and growth transactions.
- Coordinate the preparation of in-country statutory reporting, including management of external auditors and the sign off and approval of statutory accounts and management of international operations Perth based accounting group.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Finance / Tax /Accounting tertiary degree and at least 5 years’ post graduate (CA/CPA) qualification
- Strong management accounting experience including budget preparation and management reporting.
- Experience in international business and working understanding of IFRS and Australian accounting standards
- Advanced excel skills and SAP experience is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to foster strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
