About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Perform core accounting functions, including month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, payroll journals and monthly accrual journals
  • Preparation of EOM profit and loss reports, cashflow statements and accounts as well as relevant accounting reports
  • Prepare intercompany loan account reconciliations and intercompany elimination entries
  • Monthly budget vs actuals commentary/management discussion and analysis
  • Prepare monthly BAS reports for submission to head office
  • Assist and manage the preparation of financial statements for the interim and full year audit

About You 

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial accounting, reporting and analysis
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business / Commerce, supported by CPA and CA status highly regarded
  • Experience in a similar mining services/mechanical trades accounting with direct operational exposure is highly desirable
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (experience with Pronto highly regarded) and MS Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in monthly reporting, cashflow forecasting, capex tracking and BAS preparation
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. You have the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex financial data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You can build relationships, collaborate effectively, and explain financial concepts to both finance and non-finance professionals
  • A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement. You are always looking for ways to enhance processes and drive efficiency
