Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking suitably qualified applicants for the role of a Fitter position for the Surface Operations – Utilities Department, reporting to the Utilities Supervisor.

The Role
This is a residential role working Monday to Friday, 48 hours a week on a non-continuous roster. If you thrive on new challenges and real responsibility, Glencore is where you’ll find both. Reporting to the Water Distribution Supervisor, you will be part of a dedicated team who maintains and operates water systems and sewerage systems on site at Mount Isa Mines.  

 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Pump rebuilds & monitoring  
• Servicing & maintenance of water filtration plants  
• Pipe, valve & metering maintenance  
• Water & sewerage system inspections & reporting  

• Trade qualified – Fitter  
• Hold a current manual driver’s license  
• Sewerage station and/or water mains and pumps experience will be highly regarded  
• Flexible attitude and sound work ethic  
• Excellent time management skills and high level of attention to detail  
• Strong customer focus  
• Ability to work well within a team environment as well as with minimal supervision  
• Sound understanding of workplace
