The Role
A vacancy currently exists in the Mining Engineering Department for a Fitter – UM2T, reporting directly to the Supervisor – Hoisting Mechanical. This position comes with an attractive 4 days on: 3 days off roster.

  In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Performing routine maintenance and servicing of Fixed Plant across the operation
  • Fault finding and trouble-shooting machinery issues
  • Managing repairs, servicing and maintenance of machinery and equipment
  • Reviewing, creating and modifying preventative maintenance plans for optimum reliability
  • Supporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppages
  • Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace
  • Coaching and supporting production workers to improve their process knowledge and skills

About you:

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade qualification
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/schematic drawings
  • Ability to learn and understand machinery assembly / disassembly
  • Excellent troubleshooting & problem solving skills
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
  • Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes
  • Hold a current Australian Manual License
