Fixed Plant Electrician

Work Location: Hedland Operations - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 4D/4N/6R – Residentially

This role is a permanent full-time residential role. You will provide safe, effective and timely electrical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Breakdown and preventative maintenance on the OPF assets
• Daily inspections, repairs, and maintenance of fixed plant equipment
• Diagnostics & fault finding
• Scoping continuous improvement opportunities
• Raising notifications and work orders
• Modular and shutdown maintenance
• Statutory testing and inspections

Qualifications and Experience:  

• Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
• High voltage ticket and experience with HV Switching
• Electrical tradesperson background, preferably in an operating plant environment
• Understanding of PLC and control communication systems
• Basic instrumentation experience
• Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed Drives
• Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
