Electrician – Fixed Plant
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

An exciting opportunity exists for a for a qualified and dynamic Fixed Plant Maintenance Electrician to join the Iron Bridge OPF Electrical Maintenance team.
Be a part of FMG’s exciting new magnetite mine at Iron Bridge. Currently under construction, when finished it will be one of the largest magnetite mines in W.A. The world class facility is situated 145km south of Port Hedland and will deliver 22 million tonnes per annum of high grade 67% magnetite concentrate product. The innovative process design ensures production is highly efficient with globally competitive operating costs for a mine of this scale and size. Iron Bridge will employ 900 full time positions once operations commence in early 2023.
Initially embedded into the commissioning team, you will safely and effectively assist with commissioning the plant and ensuring a smooth transition into production.
You will provide safe, effective and timely electrical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity. This is permanent full time position in a forward thinking and values based organisation with a strong focus on building an inclusive team culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Commissioning new plant and equipment
- Scoping continuous improvement opportunities
- Raising notifications and work orders
- Breakdown and fault finding on Fixed Plant
- Preventative maintenance on Fixed Plant
- Modular and shutdown maintenance
- Statutory testing and inspections
- Preparing and executing high voltage switching programs and isolations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Electrical trade qualification
- Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
- High voltage switching certificate
- Certificate IV in instrumentation (desired)
- Experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment
- Proven experience in PLC systems and control communication systems
- Proven experience in the maintenance and trouble shooting of Variable Speed Drives
- Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
- Experience in computer based maintenance systems - SAP/Microsoft Office suite
