Leinster Site:

Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.  The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate.  The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.

About the Role

Reporting to the Headframe Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Technician is responsible for the preventative and breakdown maintenance of all fixed plant equipment related to the Cage/Skip Winders, materials handling system – apron feeders, rock breaker and conveyers, underground dewatering, primary ventilation and compressed air systems underground. You will be required to work with the highest priority to safety at all times and in doing so, supporting the Leinster Nickel Operation by being industry leaders in maintenance.

About you

  • Trade Qualified A Grade Electrician with a solid work history post trade
  • High exposure to Instrumentation breakdowns and repairs
  • High voltage switching qualification and experience preferred
  • PLC fault finding and diagnostics
  • Currently employed as a fixed plant Electrician.
  • Experience on various types of electrical equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision
  • Good computer skills, ideally with SAP or 1SAP knowledge
  • Solid history in the mining industry especially those who are currently in FIFO roles ‘minimum of 3 years’
  • Forklift and Elevated Work Platform Ticket preferred 
  • Rigging, confined space & working at heights will be highly regarded
  • Experience across Fixed Plant and Underground operation
  • Able to attain a new National Police Clearance
