Fixed Plant Leading Hand (Mechanical)
Work Location: Iron Bridge Concentrate Handling Facility (CHF) Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge CHF project is located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 8D/6R/7N/7R FIFO ex Perth
Iron Bridge is Fortescue’s US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. The CHF, located in Port Hedland, receives Magnetite via pipeline from the Ironbridge OPF, located 145km by road south of Port Hedland. The mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.
The leading hand role reports directly to the CHF Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving plant equipment to safely deliver world class availability and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to health and safety
- Managing plant maintenance functions in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner to meet operational requirements.
- Will be required to step up and cover all associated supervisory duties in the absence of immediate supervisor.
- Working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure plant reliability and availability are achieved.
- Commitment to training and mentoring fellow team members.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter Turner
- Previous maintenance experience in a large mining operation involving fixed plant assets such as vacuum belt filters, dewatering drums, concentrate thickeners, centrifugal and multi-stage pumping assets.
- Strong mechanical and operational aptitude with ability to fault find fixed plant assets in high pressure situations.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with all MS Office and SAP
- Previous experience with Permit, Lock-out and Isolation systems and procedures
- Current High Risk Work License endorsed – EWP, Rigging, Dogging, Telehandler, non-slewing crane - desirable
