About the role:
We are looking for Fixed Plant Inspectors to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on plant condition and drive continuous improvement practices within the fixed plant mechanical team.
This is a great opportunity for a trade qualified candidate and has experience working in a process plant with excellent diagnostic and fault-finding abilities and is looking to step into a role where they can showcase their technical knowledge while also collaborating with functional partners and stakeholders to improve plant performance and reliability. This position is a permanent role working on a 8:6 dayshift only roster.
Reporting to Supervisor Asset Health, and working in a collaborative community within Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will:
Conduct detailed inspections using available tooling to identify defects early, raise notifications at the appropriate priority, and minimise unplanned breakdowns.
Review upcoming work scopes and inspect components planned for replacement, providing risk advice where component life extension is being considered.
Escalate urgent defects and repair requirements to maintenance, execution, and production teams in a timely manner to minimise downtime and support safe outcomes.
Use operator feedback and face‑to‑face engagement to inform inspection focus areas and improve defect detection.
Proactively engage with planning and scheduling teams to prioritise the right work at the right time and optimise work sequencing for safety and efficient labour use.
Act as the key link between planners, condition monitoring, maintenance, and shutdown teams to communicate current asset condition, criticality, and future priorities, influencing weekly schedules and shutdown scopes.
Review post‑shutdown reports and contractor PRTs, raise follow‑up notifications, and escalate recurring or chronic defects to engineering with recommendations to improve reliability and plant performance.
About you

Extensive knowledge of high-pressure pumps, industrial drive gearboxes and crushers
Solid understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar
Excellent diagnostic fault-finding abilities
A current Western Australia “C” Class Driver’s Licence
A Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker Trade qualification.
