Fixed Plant Mechanical Supervisor

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 7D7N14R FIFO ex Perth 

An exciting opportunity exists for a for a qualified and dynamic Fixed Plant Mechanical Supervisor to join the Solomon OPF Mechanical Maintenance team.

You will lead a team to provide safe, effective, and timely mechanical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity. This is permanent full-time position in a forward thinking and values-based organisation with a strong focus on building an inclusive team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promote safety and compliance of all maintenance related activities
  • Assist and advise Superintendent and planning team on any gaps or non-compliance related to maintenance activities.
  • Respond to plant breakdown events and develop plans to return equipment to service
  • Leading a team of trades people to achieve KPI’s as designated by Fortescue
  • Ensure Maintenance activities are conducted safely and in line with developed Work instructions
  • Identify areas of improvement for plant operation and availability
  • Ensure all incidents and hazards are investigated and managed in BMS

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role maintaining fixed plant in a workshop and field environment.
  • Mechanical / Electrical Trade Qualification/Certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience in computer maintenance management systems (SAP).
  • Proven commitment to safety.
  • Leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work with others to achieve objectives, team oriented.
  • Sound verbal, written and computer skills.
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills.
