Fixed Plant Mechanical Supervisor
Work Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 7D/7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth (2 weeks on, 1 week off)
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent at Iron Bridge OPF, this role will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance functions for the operational process plant. You will be accountable for the planning, organising, supervision and control of mechanical fitters, and boilermakers.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide visible safety leadership (lead by example), modelling positive safety behaviours to the team, and promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis such as ensuring that all works completed are adequately risk assessed and hazards mitigated and adequately controlled
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed in a timely manner to a very high quality
- Ensure all necessary maintenance inspections and audits of the site and related facilities are completed within allocated time frames. Actions arising from those inspections are completed in a satisfactory and planned manner
- Ensure all maintenance plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely and satisfactory manner and to a high quality
- Ensure sufficient material stocks are maintained and resources on site to service site requirements, and ensure relevant maintenance management documents and associated files are updated and copies maintained
- Ensure that contractors within your scope of work meet the contractual agreements in place with Fortescue Metals KPI’s regarding quality and safety requirements
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experience in providing leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams, and ideally be Trade qualified (Mechanical Fitter) and at least 5 years’ site based, fixed plant supervisory experience would be beneficial.
- Experience in maintaining crushing and screening assets is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills, and Have the demonstrated ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority
- High level of organisation skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple functions simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision, and strong computer literacy with all MS Office suite of programs, and working knowledge of the SAP Maintenance Management System
- Experience with contract and contractor management
