Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter (Entry)
Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people
Roster: 8D/6R – Residential to Port Hedland
This is an entry level position and we encourage people new to the fixed plant trade to apply.
In this position you will execute mechanical tasks to maintain the operation in the achievement of business objectives and asset management. You will work within the maintenance department of our ore processing facility and provide safe, effective and timely maintenance to achieve maximum availability.
Key responsibilities include:
- High quality safety and continuous improvement practices
- Completing preventative maintenance to minimize machine downtime and utilize Standard Work Instructions
- Diagnosing and fault finding of dust suppression equipment
- Liaise with stores/warehouse to order and collect spare parts as required
- Use SAP to raise notifications, close out work orders, time confirmations and cause codes
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mechanical trade certificate/qualifications
- SAP experience desirable
