About the role

This is a full-time permanent position.

Reporting to the Gas Laboratory Supervisor, you will support the daily operations of the NATA accredited Gas Laboratory to determine gas content and composition of exploration and in-seam cores.

Key accountabilities:

• Provide gas data that fully encompasses the needs of gas ventilation and surface exploration activities for IMC
• Maintain Quality System by reporting and adhering to procedures in a timely manner
• Maintain and calibrate equipment
• Housekeeping of laboratory areas
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities
• Train other team members as directed
• Perform non-routine duties and project work, as directed by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Superintendent

To be considered for the role, you will have:

• Qualifications in a relevant technical field
• Experience in a similar role in the mining or mineral processing industry
• Understanding of NATA and ISO17025 (essential)
• Experience with LIMS (desirable)
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong analytical, mathematical and IT skills
• Excellent adherence to safe work practices
• Comfortable with manual handling duties
• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location

This position will be based at Cordeaux Colliery, which is in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
