General Manager - HSEQ

Job Responsibilities

Macmahon is seeking a proactive General Manager – HSEQ&T for their Underground business. Provide leadership, support and guidance for the management of the Health, Safety, Environment, Quality Management Systems and Training across the Underground Business.

About the role
 

• Lead the implementation of HSEQ&T systems and strategies to achieve the Company’s corporate objectives and targets,
• Drive the creation of strategies, objectives, and targets to elevate health, safety, environmental, and quality performance across the organisation.
• Initiate new projects to keep the organisation leading in HSEQ&T through continuous improvements and reviews of management systems and practices.
• Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of third-party certification audits, along with internal audits and risk reviews.
• Aid in crafting compelling Health and Safety submissions for tenders and expressions of interest as needed.
• Implement and oversee training outcomes to ensure our people are qualified to deliver safety outcomes and maintain high quality operational standards.

About you

• Degree qualified – Safety, Health, Environment or similar.
• 10+ years’ experience in the mining industry.
• 8+ years’ experience in a Senior HSEQ leadership role.
• Implementation of Mining Statutory Compliance (HSEQ&T, Mine Regs, Worksafe, etc).
• Experience working in Underground operations is highly desired but not essential.
