#WeAreAeris
Aeris Resources is a mid-tier base and precious metals producer. Its copper-dominant portfolio comprises three operating assets, a long-life development project and a highly prospective exploration portfolio, spanning Queensland, New South Wales Victoria and Western Australia. Our headquarters are in Brisbane.
About the role
We are seeking a General Manager, Operations (Queensland) who will play a crucial leadership role within Aeris Resources. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and guiding all operational activities related to our Queensland assets. This position is pivotal in ensuring alignment with Aeris Resources' strategic objectives and will involve providing guidance and direction to Operational Leaders across our mines.
The position is an exciting challenge as it leads two separate operations in two metals, with two different mining methods, owner operators in one operation and contractors in the other. This spread of geography and operations style requires a person with broad mining experience and leadership maturity.
FIFO from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Townsville on a 4:3 4:3 8:6 roster, covering both Cracow Gold and North Queensland Operations. A residential option in Cracow is also available, with regular travel to inspect North Queensland operations.
What you’ll do
About You
Cracow Gold Operations is an established high-grade, low-cost gold operation located near the towns of Cracow and Theodore in central Queensland, on the traditional lands of the Wulli Wulli people. Aeris acquired Cracow Gold Operations on 1 July 2020 and holds a significant tenement package over the Cracow goldfields covering 935km2. Cracow has multiple ore bodies accessed by a single decline to the surface and mined via open stoping through a modified Avoca mining sequence. Processing is via a 650,000tpa capacity facility involving conventional crushing and grinding, followed by a leaching / CIP circuit to recover gold and silver doré.
North Queensland Operations comprises the underground Mt Colin copper mine, the Barbara development project and a prospective, 967.35km2 tenement package in the Mt Isa/Cloncurry region.
