General Manager - People

Job Responsibilities

Macmahon is seeking a proactive General Manager – People for their Underground business. You will provide strategic leadership and direction for all human resources functions within the operating company. This role is critical in driving the people strategy aligned with our business goals, ensuring we attract, develop and retain top talent while fostering a positive organisational culture.

About the role
 

• Provide advice and counsel to General Managers on people strategies and issues.
• Lead implementation and deployment of strategies and global initiatives to optimise performance and engagement.
• Monitor and ensure people management compliance including legislation, company policy and standards, and government regulations.
• Work collaboratively with People SME’s to develop, implement and monitor people policies, systems and practices.
• Ensure that all complaints are investigated timely and with due process.

About you

• Hold a degree in behavioural sciences, law or business.
• 10+ years in senior human resources management.
• 10+ years in resource sector or related industry.
• Experience in multi-national organisation (preferred).
• Safety systems and leadership knowledge and experience.
• Corporate governance experience in public listed company.
