The Role
Geological Field Assistants do a mixed blend role, working in the Core Shed and out in the field. Collecting core from diamond drill rigs in the field and processing at the mine site. 

Reporting to the Senior Geological Field Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Drill core processing and sampling
• Data recording, high computer literacy required
• Auger drilling -Geo chemical sampling 
• Co-ordinate and participate in reporting and communication for the field team
• Identify, co-ordinate and participate in continuous improvement activities
• Ability to work on repetitive tasks in an outside environment
• Operating 4WD vehicle
• Opportunity to join the Emergency Response Team

Full training in all tasks and continued on the job learning is provided. 

About You

• Manual drivers license essential (must be current)
• Previous work experience outdoors essential
• Demonstrate proactive safety behaviour
• Teamwork is critical to the success of the team performance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High standard of work quality
• High Risk forklift licence preferred
• First Aid certificate preferred

• 5 month max term contract with the potential to extend based on business needs

The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 400 people and is located in Hermidale in Western New South Wales.  Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and is forecast to produce more than 21,000 tonnes in FY2023.  

Tritton is a key employer within the region and a proud supporter of the community.  We are a residential mine that allows you to be home each night.  Accommodation support is provided as well as company transport from Nyngan to the operation.  Nyngan is a family friendly community, with a variety of shops, gyms, and sporting activities as well as primary and high schools.

The Exploration Team

Aeris Resources are investing $15M in exploration to unlock further value at the Tritton Copper Operation following the recent discovery of the Constellation deposit. Recent RC Drilling results have indicated significant high grade copper intersections including 47m at 3.9% Copper and 38m at 3.72% Copper.
The funds will enable the exploration team to embark on a substantial exploration program to find the next deposit to add to the 750,000t of copper discovered to date.  With a large tenement holding and a significant proportion under-explored there is a real opportunity to find more deposits and Aeris are backing the exploration team to do so.
