Geologist Exploration

About the role

Provide geological information and interpretation for surface exploration activities. You will work closely with the site technical services, environmental and indigenous liaison departments . Your primary focus will be the execution of the exploration plan and associated data collection through core logging  

Reporting to the Senior Geologist - Exploration, the two year role is being offered on a Permanent basis, on a 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster from Townsville , Cairns or Brisbane.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

• Comply with health, safety, environment and risk standards, procedures, and routines
• Completion of weekly drill rig inspections and monitoring of drilling activities including daily tracking
• logging and sample mark-up, to ensure timely results are gathered for future planning works.
• Conducting the Geology handover meetings and ensuring detailed information is available for other team members on completion of rostered time on
• Participate in the review and continuous improvement of geology systems and processes

About you

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology ideally specialising in Exploration of BHT deposits
• Minimum 2-5 years relevant industry experience
• Surface Exploration experience in diamond drilling, geophysics, and soil sampling
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills (Arc GIS, Leapfrog and Microsoft Office Applications)
• A strong commitment to safety with a proactive safety management mindset
• Excellent communication skills
