THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Field Assistant to join our fun, hardworking and social Deflector Geology team to ensure drilling processing is delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner. Primarily supporting the Mine Geology team in this busy role, your high level of attention to detail and hardworking approach will mean you meet and exceed industry best practice for collecting data and maintaining quality control process and procedures. With demonstrated high performance and recent expansion of our operations, it is an exciting time to join the Deflector team.
Your day to day will include:
- Assist Geologists to ensure work programmes are completed as planned
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, Traditional Owners, Landholders and other Departments
- Diamond core processing, including mark-up and orientation, core cutting, sampling and other related measurements
- Ensure RC percussion and AC programmes are conducted to SLR’s expected standard of sampling and QAQC
- Undertake other sampling and data collection activities as required
- Ensure accurate data capture using our Geological database
- Maintain Geology team assets in good order
- Complete rehabilitation of drill sites and other related ground disturbance activities.
ABOUT YOU:
You are an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, who works well both independently and as part of our close-kit and social team. You are a hard-working and self-motivated person with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
Your experience includes:
- 3 years + experience working as a Field Assistant
- Demonstrated experience in orienting, cutting and meter-marking diamond core
- Current C-class WA drivers licence
- Ability to follow safety rules and regulations
- Good physical health and ability to undertake a physically demanding role
- Be organised, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work as part of a small and autonomous team
- High Risk Forklift ticket (LF), will be highly regarded
- Be able to communicate effectively with people of all backgrounds.
This role is offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton and surrounding areas. It is offered on a Fixed-term basis for a period of 12 months and includes leave entitlements. You will be a key part of the Deflector Geology team during a busy period of growth. You must have full Australian work rights and be based in or relocate to Western Australia to be considered for this role.
