Glencore Copper is seeking Geology & Mineral Resource Manager to support the growth and development of our global Copper Portfolio to be based at our Brisbane office in Australia.

Our Team
The Resource Engineering team is a recently established central function supporting existing and future operations and projects. The team is fundamental in delivering best practice operational performance and long-term strategy at our assets, as well as enabling Glencore’s ambitious growth plans.
This role represents a significant opportunity to work in a high-performance team while supporting world class operations and projects globally.
The Opportunity
The role is accountable for defining the geology standards and ensuring that the standards are implemented on Glencore’s Copper sites and development projects. Lead the development, rollout and governance of geological standards and guidelines, including Mineral Resources estimates and reporting.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines in accordance with industry best practise including:
- Resource Estimation and Reporting
- Resource Reconciliation
- Geological Data Collection
- Grade Control Practices
- Resource Range Analysis
- Provide expert geological support and advice to Glencore Copper’s operations and project teams.
- Lead and support independent technical reviews of projects and operations.
- Support independent review of Resource Development Plans and Life of Mine Plans.
- Lead the geology function in the Resource and Reserve steering committee.
- Manage the annual Mineral Resource reporting function for the Glencore Copper business.
- Develop and implement a Competent Persons Development program for Geologists.
- Provide support to the broader resource engineering group including in the business development area.
Your training, skills & expertise checklist:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or similar discipline.
- 18+ years mining industry experience across mining operations, corporate technical teams/consulting and projects.
- 10+ years in mineral resource estimation.
- 10+ years in operational geology in open pit and underground operations.
- Experience as acting as a competent person for Mineral Resource Estimates (JORC).
- Demonstrated capability at a manager level, developing and leading high-performance teams.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is an advantage.
- Ability to travel to Glencore owned sites and other sites globally as required.
