Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager the primary purpose of the Geology and Survey Superintendent will be to guide a team of professionals to provide quality and timely geological, survey and data reporting information for the Yarrabee operation  to make informed decisions. To deliver on that purpose some of your responsibilities will be: •    Coordinate, develop, support your team to increase their capability to deliver their responsibilities. •    Ensure that mining and coal recovery processes are effectively applied to the mining operations. •    Provide proactive identification of areas for improvement in coal mining and geotechnical compliance activities. •    Ensure that all geological and survey data is appropriately collected, safely stored, processed, maintained, analysed and accessible with stringent QAQC. •    Effective management of assigned projects. •    Maintaining a good understanding of daily, and long-term operational issues. •    A commitment to Safety and Risk Management processes. 

Skills and Experience

•    Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate Geoscience of Surveying Discipline. •    Demonstrated advanced computer literacy and exposure to various mine design and geological modelling software. •    Proficiency in developing processes, procedures, and system instructions/user guides •    Strong documentation abilities to explain complex technical information effectively. •    Demonstrated leadership success and a desire to oversee a team. •    Significant exposure to coal mining with an understanding of technical and operating processes. •    Determination to undertake challenges and extend your capabilities.
