The Mount Monger Operation (MMO) is an expansive tenement package located 50km south-east of Kalgoorlie. Spanning multiple Gold mineralisation styles, this dynamic operation currently includes the Daisy Milano Underground Mine, the Santa, French Kiss and Flora Dora Open Pit mining operations.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Kalgoorlie based individual to join our team at the Daisy Milano core processing facility. The successful candidate will support the geological team in processing diamond drill core and other related duties. This role involves hands-on work and collaboration with the Geologist to ensure that drill core is processed and that data is accurately captured. This position reports to the Senior Mine Geologist and will be based at the Daisy Milano core processing facility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organise and maintain the core processing facility ensuring a safe work area in the coreyard. Maintain safe operation of equipment, conduct pre-starts and report hazards.
  • Assist with core handling and processing which includes core photos, metre marking, orientation, core cutting, RQD, specific gravity measurements, and bagging, dispatching and delivery of samples to assay laboratories.
  • Stocktake on drilling and coreyard consumables on a regular basis. Label, organise and maintain all consumables.
  • Assist with sampling of parcel feeds at the Mill as required.
  • Upload sampling data, RQD and specific gravity measurement data on to database server. Ensure core photographs are stored correctly on the network.
  • Monitor and report on issues with core quality and presentation from diamond drilling contractor.
  • Complete any other task as requested by your supervisor.
  • Drop-off daily samples at Kalgoorlie Laboratory.

  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
  • Holding a C class drivers’ licence
  • Holding a "Provide First Aid" (HLTAID011) certificate or higher qualification

The following would be desirable:

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adapt to varying weather conditions.
  • A quick learner and the ability to pick-up new skills quickly.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid Fork Lift license desirable but not a primary requirement.

The position will be offered working on a 5:2 roster (one day per month RDO) DIDO from Kalgoorlie.

The company will provide a suitable vehicle for travel to and from Kalgoorlie.
