The Resource Development team provides support and sustains Pilbara Operations, through delivery of Ore Body Knowledge that ensures resources are developed in time, future value opportunities are identified and developed. The Geoscientist position is based in Perth with some site travel to the Pilbara.
Reporting to the Superintendent Geoscientist – Tenure and Generative – you will deliver best practice outcomes for RTIO’s tenement reporting process and form part of a team that is developing new processes and technologies for the Geoscience team, in particular:
Prompt preparation, and submission, of suitably completed tenement documentation aligned with RTIO and DEMIRS requirements for the tenement reporting process
Identify and escalate risks/roadblocks related to tenement deadlines, expenditure commitments, work program generation and progression
Build capacity within the Geoscience and Resource Development teams by improving understanding and communication of tenement risk management
In collaboration with Specialist Geoscientist, build, monitor, and communicate 10yr tenure strategy for assigned tenements
Delivery of technical geoscientific projects that contribute towards our Generative capacity
Generation and execution of business improvement initiatives
What you will bring:
You will be a passionate geologist that possesses a strong knowledge of Pilbara geology and an appreciation for the technical knowledge gaps that exist within the terrane
Knowledge of tenement reporting requirements for RTIO – previous experience as an Accountable Officer is preferred
Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
Previous exposure to project management and stakeholder engagement
A can-do attitude combined with a continuous improvement mindset

Where you will be working
You and your team will be Perth based with opportunity to work flexibly from home combined with time in our Central Park offices. Our wider Resource Development Division is spread across a combination of Perth and Pilbara Resource Development sites.
This role is open to both full time and part time applicants. Some visits to Pilbara sites will be required however these can be accommodated on a very flexible basis.
