Role Title: Geospatial Analyst
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
Duration: 12 Months
Key accountabilities will include:
- Develop, test, implement and maintain specialized geospatial analysis tools specific to Green Energy following quality development processes
- Perform geospatial analytics utilizing ESRI, FME and Imagine specifically for Green Energy Projects; including land (terrain; hydrographic, vegetation) and sea (bathymetry, glaciers)
- Develop, implement and maintain a centralised geospatial visualization tool (ESRI Portal) that integrates data, studies and project controls information that support stakeholders globally
- Utilize Aerial, UAV, LiDAR, Satellite and NDVI data products to derive analysis and support Green Energy studies
- Detailed geospatial data management including auditing and editing skills within ArcSDE SQL database and other systems
- Advanced mapping capabilities mainly within the ESRI suite
- Develop and maintain asset tracking capabilities and geofencing of assets for logistics planning and other analyses
- Procurement, analysis and management of datasets relevant to Green Energy Projects
Qualifications and skills required:
- Excellent knowledge of geospatial applications including but not limited to ESRI Suite, GeoCortex, Terra Explorer Pro, FME, Global Mapper
- Good knowledge of ERDAS Imagine, Pix4D, Context Capture, Python, R, Google Cloud platform including Google Big Query and Google Earth Engine – Preferred
- Extensive geospatial data science analysis and development of tools - Preferred
- At least 3+ years geospatial experience via industry experience or tertiary studies – Essential.
- At least 1+ years in Green Energy industry - Preferred
- Ability to conduct effective training courses to key stakeholders and geospatial team members – Highly desirable
- Tertiary qualification in Cartography, Geospatial Sciences or equivalent – Essential
- Qualifications in Programming; Software Engineering, Computer Science - Preferred
