We are looking for a highly motivated GIS Specialist to lead a small team of GIS Analyst and work independently to deliver and administer high quality geospatial outputs that provide key GIS support to the business assisting in decision making, work programmes and creating value.
This role is a great opportunity to work in a fast paced, dynamic and exciting team of like-minded GIS professionals and be involved in supporting the growth of our business. Reporting to the Superintendent GIS Delivery, State Agreement & Approvals, you will be:
- Leading a team of three GIS data analysts
- Leading legacy data migration projects
- Capturing, processing, storing and analysing vector and raster data
- Ensuring that data management workflows are rigorously controlled with strict QA/QC and be auditable
- Improving the efficiency of data maintenance and identify opportunities to add value through data management
- Liaising with key stakeholders to builder stronger relationships and achieve value adding outcomes
- Providing support and training to GIS users
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Tertiary-level qualifications in GIS or related discipline
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Leadership experience
- Experience with database management and geodatabase design
- Advanced ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise skills
- A good understanding of ETCL software FME
- A good understanding of programming languages including Python, .Net or JavaScript
- High level of understanding of the datasets relating to the Tenure, Approvals, Heritage, Resource Development and Studies groups
- Demonstrate strategic, lateral and creative thinking
- Ability to work under pressure to deliver data outputs within tight deadlines
- Flexible and adaptive approach to fluctuating workloads, priorities and supporting other team members

Where you’ll be working
Perth based but with a working focus on the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
