Global Governance & Compliance Officer
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
Reporting to the FFI Global Governance and Compliance function, this role will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day oversight of the Company’s Business Integrity Compliance Program, including the provision of compliance advice, pre-approvals, training, and the completion of enhanced due diligence on vendors and government intermediaries.
Joining a close knit team, this role will ideally suit a Finance graduate with a positive attitude and initiative, coming from a Big 4 consulting environment, or someone who wants to specialise in corporate Governance & Compliance, particularly in relation to Anti-Bribery & Corruption; Economic & Trade Sanctions compliance; Environment & Social Risk Compliance.

Key accountabilities, and training objectives will include:
- Working within the compliance team and a share inbox, provision of compliance guidance to the business
- Conducting enhanced Due Diligence on high-risk vendors and government intermediaries (known as Business Partners) including collation of all materials, analysis and writing of executive summaries
- Maintaining library of Business Partner Due Diligence Files, including upkeep of Annual Compliance Certifications, and completion of updated periodic due diligence
- Completing due diligence on other counterparties including regular vendors, JV Partners etc and ongoing monitoring of Fortescue’s vendors, including advice to the business on red flag resolution
- Completing due diligence on recipients of sponsorships and donations
- Monitoring of the Company’s compliance registers including the Gifts, Entertainment and Sponsored Travel, Declarations of Interest and Political Functions
- Assisting the Governance and Compliance Team in conducting Whistle-blower Hotline and compliance case investigations
- Assisting the Governance and Compliance Team with communications, and reporting
- Assisting Governance and Compliance Team with conducting domestic and international Business Integrity risk assessments, compliance audits and in the delivery of other special projects
Qualifications and skills required:
- You will ideally hold a relevant tertiary education in Finance, or other relevant degree
- Big 4 consulting experience
- Governance & Compliance experience highly desirable
- Exposure to a Gifts Register would be highly desirable
- Self-starter who is career focused and motivated to learn
- Strong communicator, ability to liaise with internal stakeholders at varying levels
- Flexibility to travel, both domestically and internationally
