About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Dragline Superintendent to join our Goonyella Production Team on a Monday - Friday Dayshift Roster, with some flexibility available for the right candidate.  In this role you will use the BHP Operating System to drive Dragline and Dozer Push safety, volume and costs outcomes for GRM and set the example for BMA and the wider Industry on excellent outcomes linked to Customer Success.

The role will report to the Production Manager with expectation to step up as required.  You will be a dynamic leader with a strong safety focus and have the ability to influence and shape the organisational culture, whilst continuously seeking to improve to deliver the sites KPI’s and mission. Key responsibilities: Utilise the BHP Operating System to drive systematised and embedded improvement in Dragline and Dozer Push Operations, never accepting status quo or average performance. Manage performance and expectations of Supervisors and their Team, enabling them to grow and support delivery of production excellence.   Full accountability for safety, productivity, compliance and cost of the Dragline and Dozer Push Department. Resolving resourcing and scheduling issues to deliver and outperform the required plan outcomes. Deep understanding and consideration of the plan, risks and opportunities driving a safe and stable execution of an agreed and owned plan.   Manage statutory obligations including Supervisor standards and Control Owner responsibilities.

About you

As the Dragline Superintendent, you will have demonstrated capability in a large scale open cut mining operation with experience in dragline/dozer activities, this role will manage a fleet of four draglines and a dozer push fleet, along with cable crew requirements. The nature of the role requires you to have strong leadership attributes, relationship building and influencing skills in order to hold others to account.  With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be a team focused leader with the ability to mentor and develop site personnel. You will have a strong safety focus with a sound knowledge & understanding of relevant statutory regulations and organisational requirements and experience managing budgets.
