Governance and Compliance Manager
Work Location: Perth
- Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
You will be responsible for managing Governance and Compliance activities and providing support across Fortescue Metals Group and Fortescue Future Industries. You will assist with the implementation and maintenance of Fortescue’s global compliance and business integrity program (and associated risk and control frameworks) which deals with the following areas of legal and regulatory compliance risks:
- Anti-bribery and corruption
- Sanctions compliance
- Export controls
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain risk and control frameworks for key risks such as bribery and corruption, sanctions and export controls.
- Policy formulation and implementation, along with associated internal control, procedure and guideline implementation
- Conduct risk assessments and hold risk workshops to assess the effectiveness of existing internal controls and suggest enhancements if required.
- Provide clear, common-sense compliance advice (aligned to regulatory requirements and widely accepted best practices) to the business on compliance matters to facilitate the advancement of Fortescue’s business objectives.
- Provide compliance endorsement (or rejections) for a wide range of compliance sensitive activities.
- Manage anti-bribery and corruption, fraud or other financial crime investigations.
What we are looking for:
- Flexibility to travel internationally occasionally.
- Demonstrated strong leadership experience
- Drive to implement a simple but robust, compliance program in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in law, finance or business with a background in regulatory compliance
- Expertise in the development and implementation of export controls compliance programs.
