About the Role
The Resource Engineering (RE) Improvement Specialist will report to the RE Business Improvement Lead and will focus on Governance, Processes and Systems standards, maintaining, auditing, and further improving current systems, whilst collaborating closely with key stakeholders to drive improvement. This role will be a key enabler for the continuity and sustainability of our BHP Operating System (BOS); whilst continuing to facilitate the integration of innovative systems and practices. Thus, further enabling Resource Engineering’s high performing technical teams to integrate end-to-end processes.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Supporting teams on the implementation and sustaining of Resource Engineering Integrated Workspace (IWS)
- Provide guidance and assist leaders to embed the RE ways of working. Maintaining, auditing, and improving current routines, systems and standards put in place as part of our BOS journey.
- Work with RE teams to develop and implement fit for purpose standardised integrated processes and related controls, and translating them into standards and training
- Monitor and maintaining current RE reporting dashboards and related systems, in collaboration with the technology team.
- Support, develop and sustain communications channels for Resource Engineering internal teams
- Monitoring of Resource Engineering data / knowledge used in business / operational planning and communicating identifying risks to key stakeholders
- Be able to identify improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure efficiency.
- Coach teams on BHP Operating System in RE and Deliver training material for new starters
- Role model and proactively coach the BOS practices and tools to continually grow RE BOS capability and way of working
- Sustaining and improving our Knowledge Management Systems.
About You
We are looking for a professional who can demonstrate excellence on a day-to-day basis, who possess high attention to detail, excellent verbal, and written communications skills, able to work with multiple stakeholders, possesses innovative with a bias to action, with an urgency to serve customers, high quality standards and able to manage fast paced teams, within competing priorities.
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Have a passion for improvement and enable teams to achieve high performance and excellence, whilst maintaining Governance and Systems to support them
- You will be advance level on MS office suite (Power Point, Excel, Word)
- Good knowledge and practical experience in SharePoint and Power BI. Desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills and a mind for process improvement and waste elimination
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in project management and training (Desirable)
- Exposure to mining/resourcing is ideal but experience in other industries that utilise an lean principles would be highly regarded (e.g., manufacturing, health, finance, logistics, etc.)
- Understanding of BOS (BHP Operating System) or LEAN methodologies and a desire to coach teams.
Location
In this full-time permanent position, you will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
You will be working on a Monday-Friday roster while a Flexi work arrangement is also offered.
