Grader Operator

The Gwalia Gold Mine is located three kilometres south of the town of Leonora, Western Australia, and has been a flagship asset for our client St Barbara for the past 15 years. Macmahon is proud to be able to deliver a whole of mine service including mine development, ground support, production drilling and blasting, loading and trucking, shotcreting and paste fill reticulation from May 2021. 

The Gwalia mine is the cornerstone of Leonora operations and has strong margins supported by good grades and a focus on costs and returns. The site has a track record of continuous improvement, with a recently upgraded mine ventilation system, and a previous significant upgrade of the accommodation village that incorporated a number of energy efficient and environmentally friendly initiatives.

The underground team are currently seeking experienced Underground Grader Operators on a 2:2 Roster (Dayshift/Nightshift) to our Gwalia Mine project.          
                                                                                                                             
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Operate 140M and 150M Grader 
Grading underground roadways and surface roads
Working with Service Crew when grading is not required
Operating underground loaders – will be trained if needed


To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
 

Previous experience working underground 
Current manual Drivers Licence
Self-motivated and energetic

Successful applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol screen as well as obtain a National Police Clearance.
