Our KOTH Commercial team has a newly created opportunity and is seeking a self-driven Graduate Accountant to join on an 8:6 roster.

Site Overview

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Graduate Accountant will be responsible for broad range of accounting and administrative functions within a mining environment. This role provides exposure to operational accounting, site-based financial activities, cost analysis, and reporting requirements. It is designed to develop a strong foundation in financial management while gaining industry-specific experience.

This position will be offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
  • Conduct general ledger reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.

Cost Control & Analysis

  • Assist with cost tracking for mining operations (labour, consumables, equipment, contractors).
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports and provide insights to operational leaders.

Accounts Support

  • Assist with supplier invoice validation, coding, and approvals.
  • Support asset register maintenance and capital expenditure tracking.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with site departments to gather operational data for reporting.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation (diesel, explosives, parts, and materials).
  • Provide administrative support to finance and site management teams.

Audit & Governance

  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist with compliance reporting including payroll tax, GST/BAS, and statutory obligations (as applicable).

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline, with CA/CPA studies underway (desirable).
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, with exposure to ERP systems such as Pronto.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with a proven ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn appropriate mining software packages and tools:
  • Hold a current WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
