Operations near and far

Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.

Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to start their mining career in the field of ground control and geotechnical support. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of ground control. As the successful candidate, you'll provide geotechnical support to both Underground and Surface Operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety of all personnel and equipment.

Other key deliverables include:

  • Conduct regular inspections of underground mine workings to identify and assess ground control risks
  • Help implement and maintain geotechnical systems and procedures
  • Work with Geotechnical Engineers on underground evaluations and improvement projects
  • Quality Control inspections of sprayed fibrecrete, installed mesh, installed reinforcement, osro strap and injected resin.
  • Quality Assurance audits of fibrecrete supply, spraying of fibrecrete, mesh, straps, jumbo – friction, resin bolts, cable bolting, Consumables Storage and injected Resin.
  • Monitoring of ground control damage and deformation, Impromptu inspections of mechanical damage, mapping new development and corrosion.
  • Inspecting and testing via Quality Control certificates from suppliers

  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
  • Working at Heights & Dogging Licence desirable

Please note: This is a residential role based at our Cadia operation in NSW. You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday).
