Key Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of EOM profit and loss reports, balance sheets, cashflow statements and accounts, relevant accounting reports, and monthly final accounts for Emeco Group and subsidiary companies
  • Monthly budget vs actuals commentary/management discussion and analysis
  • Prepare the consolidation entries (including intercompany transactions and eliminations)
  • Assist and manage the preparation of financial statements for the interim and full year audit
  • Preparation of Board Reports
  • Review and sign off month end reconciliations for Corporate and the Corporate Entities
  • Technical Accounting papers, memorandums or analysis as required
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and optimize financial systems
  • Prepare insurance schedules and reporting and treasury approvals as required
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable as required

About You 

Essential to this role will be your tertiary qualifications in Business / Commerce, supported by CPA and CA status, along with substantial accounting and/or business analysis exposure. 

  • 5+ years experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience in a similar mining services/mechanical trades accounting with direct operational exposure is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. You have the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You can build relationships, collaborate effectively, and explain financial concepts to both finance and non-finance professionals.
  • A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement. You are always looking for ways to enhance processes and drive efficiency.
