About the roleReporting to the Chief People Officer, this role operates at a Group level across all Aeris site operations, managing and supporting Aeris’ health, safety and risk compliance activities. It has a key partnering role in advising and enabling the site health & safety professionals to identify, assess and manage risk in applying health, safety and risk strategies in an integrated manner.

About the roleReporting to the Chief People Officer, this role operates at a Group level across all Aeris site operations, managing and supporting Aeris’ health, safety and risk compliance activities. It has a key partnering role in advising and enabling the site health & safety professionals to identify, assess and manage risk in applying health, safety and risk strategies in an integrated manner.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain the Health Safety and Training framework for Aeris. The Framework includes Standards, Aeris Strategy and guidelines for Health Safety and Training management systems.
- Provide strategic direction and coaching of the site based health, safety and training practitioners in Aeris Resources. Develop close partnering relationships with staff across the business to provide advice and support learning.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Projects groups to ensure they have Health and Safety Management systems that are fit for purpose in the relevant jurisdiction of operation.
- Maintain the Aeris risk framework including the risk register and reporting.
- Coach and guide business leaders on managing and controlling risk in their areas of accountability
- Analyse, collate and provide business risk, health and safety management related analysis and reporting including for Sustainability reporting.
- Provide Risk, Health, Safety and Training audit services to the business. Regular reporting to the Executive and when required to the Board of Directors.
- Management of the software and other enabling tools used in Health, Safety and Training. Engage with vendors to ensure tools are fit for purpose
- Oversight of the workers company’s compensation claims, providing support and advice to the sites as needed.
- Relevant tertiary education in Business/Risk and health and safety discipline, or significant practical experience in enterprise risk management application, governance and compliance services
- 10+ years experience in enterprise risk, health and safety industry
- Experience in facilitating risk assessments and risk profiling, identifying compliance obligations and key controls
- Demonstrated, exceptional relationship management and business facilitation skills
- Exceptional communication skills including proven ability to engage, negotiate, influence and collaborate.
- This position is based at our corporate Brisbane CBD office, with travel to sites as required
