About South Flank

BHP’s US$3.6 billion South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore. About the Role

In this role you will lead, coach and mentor a team of high calibre Maintenance Technicians, ensure a safe system of work is in place for each activity, contribute to continuous improvement, reliability and quality maintenance and develop, communicate, and execute Haul Truck Planned Maintenance.    Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance this role is being offered as a FIFO or DIDO basis working 8 days on / 6 days off / 7 nights on / 7 nights off roster.

About You

Are you an inquisitive, team-spirited and outcome focused individual who is passionate about safety and have the ability to build great relationships within our team, then this is the next role for you!  

It is desirable but not essential that you will have experience with the operation and maintenance of heavy mining equipment; including Komatsu 930E electric drive trucks, Caterpillar  793F and Caterpillar 785D water trucks. Any electric drive haul truck experience is advantageous.   A strength of yours will be your ability to communicate efficiently, ensuring the development of staff through your influencing and relationship management skills. You will be a proactive, credible and influential member of the leadership team whilst building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.  

Our successful candidate will have the following skills, attributes and experience: •    A genuine commitment to safety •    Have extensive leadership experience within a maintenance environment as essential •    Hold a current full "C" class manual driver’s licence •    Have experience maintaining Komatsu 930E electric drive trucks, Caterpillar 793F and Caterpillar 785D water trucks •    Any electric drive haul truck experience is advantageous •    Diploma in Frontline Management or a qualification in Six Sigma would be advantageous  •    Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations •    Systems knowledge of maintenance processes (e.g. Work management, reliability, information management, cost control and budgeting processes) •    Experience leading and mentoring teams and an ability to provide leadership and development of team members •    Experience the autonomous haulage concepts, would be beneficial •    Previous experience improving performance and availability through quality maintenance practices.
