HD Fitters

We are currently seeking applications for Heavy Duty Diesel Fitters to join our maintenance department for our two South Australia Operations, Prominent Hill and Carrapateena.

With over 5,500 employees, the Byrnecut Group is a full-service underground mining contractor, providing services to major mine owners throughout Australia and Internationally. We operate a multi-million dollar fleet of specialised underground mining equipment across multiple continents and conditions.

Duties 

• Performing scheduled maintenance and technical support to the site maintenance team on a large fleet of Sandvik Drills, you will be working within a small team of Drill specialists to achieve high standards in preventative maintenance and machine reliability
• Assess potential hazards and make necessary changes to eliminate or control them
• Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation
• Analyse failed parts and components, correct malfunctions
• Use sophisticated diagnostic equipment and techniques to perform component replacements on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and air machine systems 
• Report all equipment faults to the maintenance foreman for scheduling into workshop weekly planning 
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health & safety policies/procedures

Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification/s
• Mining experience (underground) is preferred but not essential
• Current driver’s license
• National police clearance
• Good communication skills and a "can-do" attitude
• Ability to pass a full medical
