HD Mechanic Fitter

Macmahon Maintenance Masters is currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join our internal labour support division on 7:7 DIDO rosters at our Saraji mine site. Saraji is a coal mine located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, 12km south of Middlemount.

Health, Safety and Risk

• Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Macmahon and Client instructions, policies, procedures and practices
• Complete service vehicle daily pre-start checks
• Ensure a clear hand over is completed with cross-shift
• Read and understand work instructions and permits and adhere to them at all times
• Complete JSEA when required

Skills & Responsibilities:

•    Relevant Trade Certificate
•    Proven experience with a variety of Cat & Hitachi Diggers, Dump Trucks, Dozers, Graders, Loaders and Drills
•    Experience with major components would be advantageous including engines, differentials, transmissions, torque converters, final drives and minor components including pumps & cylinders
•    Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting / interpretive skills
•    Previous experience in the mining industry - underground or surface operations

Commercial/Financial

Operate machine in competent manner without causing damage to equipment
Ensure work is done correctly the first time to the acceptable standard so there is no rework

Team Contribution

Support employees and contractors to comply with all relevant policies and procedures
Develop and maintain good working relationships with key contractors, suppliers and customers
