HD Mechanic Fitter (Digger Fitter)

Macmahon is seeking experienced HD Fitters to join our mobile plant maintenance team at Byerwen—one of Queensland’s premier hard coking coal sites. You’ll be working on ultra-class excavators in a high-output environment where safety, reliability, and teamwork drive success.

About the Role

• Perform scheduled servicing, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs on Liebherr R996, Liebherr R9800, and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, diesel engines, slew rings, undercarriage components, and electrical control systems.
• Conduct structural inspections and component replacements in line with OEM specifications and Macmahon procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and planners to align maintenance priorities with production targets.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Cert III in Mobile Plant or Heavy Diesel Fitting - must include hydraulic and electrical competencies.
• Proven experience with Liebherr R996/R9800 and Hitachi EX3600
• Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical.
• Familiarity with SAP or Pronto CMMS.
