Head of Maintenance and Asset Management

Perenti Contract Mining is a leading player in the contract mining industry, known for our commitment to operational excellence and global presence. Forming the contract mining division of Perenti Group, as a capital-intensive business, we understand the critical importance of effective asset management strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our operations. We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of Maintenance and Asset Management.  

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President of Operational Performance, this role is vital in ensuring our contract mining business is supported by reliable and cost-effective asset management strategies. You will be responsible for optimizing asset performance, shaping strategic asset management in partnership with Finance and Operations, and driving innovation and continuous improvement across our portfolio of projects in Australia, Africa and North America.

You can expect to deliver on the following key responsibilities:

• Functional Leadership and Strategy:
  • Develop and deliver an integrated Asset Management (AM) and maintenance strategy, objectives, and budgets.
  • Lead cross-regional teams, ensuring that their work aligns with business needs and that learnings are shared across regions.
• Asset Management Planning:
  • Further optimize asset management plans to improve the lifecycle management of all mining assets.
• Process and Productivity Improvements:
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of new technologies and existing technology platforms to enhance maintenance and asset management activities.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements in maintenance and asset management operations.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Monitor asset performance and maintenance activities, providing key insights and reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all maintenance practices comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Vendor and Contractor Management:
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure the quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Support the VP of Operational Performance in managing relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
• Cross-Collaboration and Safety:
  • Foster cross-collaboration among teams to leverage learnings, drive standardization, and optimize the portfolio of work.
  • Maintain and improve safety performance across all maintenance and asset management activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Significant experience in maintenance and asset management within a capital-intensive industry, preferably in underground mining or a related field
• Proven track record of leading cross-regional teams and delivering strategic initiatives
• Strong understanding of asset management principles, lifecycle management, and the integration of technology in maintenance operations
• Ability to work closely with Finance, Operations, and other departments to drive business performance
• A forward-thinking approach with a passion for continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies
• A deep commitment to maintaining and improving safety standards in all aspects of work.
