Newcrest is one of the world's largest gold mining companies. As a global business, we aim to create a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, valued and supported to bring their whole unique self to work.

We recognise that our different backgrounds and perspectives help us find better ways to: solve problems; attract and retain the best people; explore, develop and produce more gold safely and profitably; and help make Newcrest a better place to work.

Our Cadia Valley Operation is an internationally recognised block cave mine located in Central Western New South Wales approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange.

As part of our journey to forge an even stronger Newcrest, we have created a new leadership role at Cadia to set direction for our Operation’s Execution teams across Mining, Processing and Maintenance. Reporting to the General Manager - Cadia Valley Operations, you will lead the safe production of mined and processed ore with operations and maintenance functions aligned to our mining value chain and assets. Importantly as a leader, you will ensure a motivational climate in the workplace where individuals and teams are inspired to high performance.

At Newcrest, we hold core values that focus on caring about people, working together and achieving a high-performance culture through innovation and problem solving.

Drawing on your demonstrated expertise managing high value chain operations across large and challenging mining sites, you will work closely with a range of operational and corporate stakeholders to implement and embed a step-change in developing and delivering optimum performance across our Cadia Valley Operations.

As a successful candidate you will have deep knowledge and experience related to effective management of a diverse and agile team, with a capability to lead change including decision-making that has transformed Operations. Your ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams will be essential. As a leader, your strengths will help select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved inclusion, engagement, diversity and organisational capability.

The person we are looking for will have strong established experience in a similar technical and leadership role within mining, metals extraction/processing or maintenance. You will have innovative technical skills, knowledge and experience in a discipline directly related to one or more of the role functions. Demonstrated experience managing successful operations within Australia and a strong understanding of Safety Leadership and associated legislative requirements will be essential to the success of this role.
