Iron Bridge - Health and Safety Advisor
Work Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8/6 FIFO ex Perth
Role overview:
As part of the Iron Bridge Health and Safety team, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic mining operations environment. Reporting to the HSE Superintendent, you will play an integral part in engaging with leaders to provide advice in achieving the objectives of the strategic plan for HSES performance
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure Leaders and team members are provided with coaching and mentoring to achieve confidence and competence in safety compliance, assurance activities and are proactive in identifying and managing risk
- Provide assistance and guidance in the investigation of incidents
- Be actively involved in the Fortescue Contractor Management audit process
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of health and Safety initiatives and promotional material
- Liaise with line management, consultants and Government bodies
- Actively participate in the implementation of the Fortescue Major Hazard Program
To be considered, the successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated substantial Safety Advisor experience in an operational mining or construction environment
- Relevant Occupational Health & Safety qualifications
- Experience in Risk Management
- Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) and an awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
- Demonstrated experience in contractor management, ICAM investigations and procedural (safety) development
- Data analysis, trending & reporting
