Health and Safety Advisor - Exploration
Work Location: Across various Fortescue Exploration sites
Roster: 14D/7R or 12D/9R FIFO ex Perth
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join our Exploration team working across all of Fortescue's exploration sites, FIFO ex Perth.
Reporting to the HSES Superintendent within Fortescue's Exploration Team, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic exploration environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engage with Leaders to provide advice in achieving the objectives of the Exploration strategic plan for HSES performance
- Ensure Leaders and team members are provided with coaching and mentoring to achieve confidence and competence in safety compliance, assurance activities and are proactive in identifying and managing risk
- Influence journey towards becoming a global safety leader by modelling personal value for safety, organisational pride, care for others and supporting Exploration leaders towards the same
- Assist Exploration Contract partners in meeting Fortescue’s Minimum Requirements and provide coaching to Supervisors
- Provide services like safety training, risk assessments, incident investigations, data analysis/ trending & reporting, assurance/validation, preparation and presentation of health and safety initiatives and promotional material
- Work and accommodate in remote locations where Fortescue Exploration operations are taking place, at times with limited access to amenities and services
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated Safety Advisor experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Previous experience in Green and/or Brown Field's Exploration, Drilling or Mining industry will be highly regarded
- Safety Auditing qualification Lead Auditor (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations (or similar)
- Current "A" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence or equivalent
- Competent in 4WD and Operation of Light Vehicles
