Health & Safety Compliance Advisor

Work Location: Perth

  • Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Duration: Maximum Term - 12 Months 

You will provide support to ensure that site is compliant with Legislative Requirements, to track progress towards the FMG vision to be the safest, lowest cost iron ore producer and to provide data analysis to inform improvement opportunities in Health and Safety Performance. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer, maintain and coordinate activities to ensure external compliance obligations are met
  • Mines record book management
  • Supporting site by working with the regulator to coordinate site audit and inspection – DMIRS
  • Manage all communications regarding license applications, amendments, and renewals
  • Managing and maintaining the safety approvals module
  • Regularly tracking and delivering HS compliance performance and updates
  • Completing and managing the process for all hygiene monitoring exceedances

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health and safety working in the resource sector or regulatory authority
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and maintaining HS management systems;
  • Ability to prepare, monitor and report on monthly HSE performance;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Risk Management, Law or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, Work Health and Safety Regulations
  • Understanding of database(s) such as BMS, Power BI
