The Role
An excellent opportunity for you to employ your considerable HST experience and skills to drive the HST functions at Cracow mine. Reporting to the HSET Manager, you will be responsible for tasks relating to Health, Safety and Training on site and providing support to individuals, supervisors and senior leadership on all matters regarding HST. Leveraging your significant collaboration and communication skills, the role will give you the opportunity to work with likeminded HST professionals within the HSET department and provide advice to senior leadership to truly influence operational outcomes.

The Role

Reporting to the HSET Manager, you will be responsible for tasks relating to Health, Safety and Training on site and providing support to individuals, supervisors and senior leadership on all matters regarding HST. Leveraging your significant collaboration and communication skills, the role will give you the opportunity to work with likeminded HST professionals within the HSET department and provide advice to senior leadership to truly influence operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform the injury and incident management process and return to work coordination
- Participate in, facilitate and/or lead ICAM incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Audit, inspect and verify to ensure that required records are maintained and that the quality of the records is consistent with Legislation, and site standards.
- Supplement the Emergency Management Advisor including being site medic on call and providing first aid treatment in their absence
- Participate in the implementation of Fitness for Work programs including conducting FFW testing
- Coordinate and assist in facilitating Health surveillance programs such as periodic medicals, update and manage Cracow personnel Medicals, Functional Capacity Evaluations and Chest X-rays
- Assist with the management and accountabilities of the site corrective action register. (INX)
- Provide coaching and mentoring to HST personnel, Site H&S Representatives (SSHR) and the workforce on all safety related issues.
- 2 years’ experience in a HST/OHS Advisor capacity with either underground/open cut mining or process plant operational experience
- Hands-on experience and/or qualifications as a Medical Technician
- Sound understanding of the Queensland Mining legislation and how to apply it to operational mine SHMS
- Diploma in OHS or higher required
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desirable)
- RIIWHS601D Establish & Maintain WHS Management System
- BSBWHS419 Contribute to implementing WHS monitoring processes
- HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing or equivalent
- Mining Supervisory qualification G1,8,9 or S 1,2,3
- Occupational First Aid certificate, CERT IV health care or higher
