Health and Safety Advisor
Work Location: Across all sites
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager - Services, this role is responsible for assisting with the planning, improvement, and implementation of Fortescue's Health and Safety Management System. This role will see you travelling to different operational sites each swing to participate and coach operational leadership in the implementation of Fortescue’s safety and Risk Reduction programs.
With previous experience in incident investigations (in particular ICAM), you will engage and provide guidance to operational leadership to improve organisational learning within health and safety.
The role will support a range of stakeholders including village operations, aerodromes and others.
Key accountabilities include:
- Complete quality data analysis to identify trends to support operational leadership in identifying focus areas
- Actively participate in mentoring and coaching of operational personnel to establish a sustained safety culture
- Assist in the development of supporting material for the effective implementation of the health and safety management system
- Actively participate in the Fortescue Vendor Management Audit process
- Support the integration of Fortescue's Food Safety Management Plan (FMSP)
Qualifications & skills required:
- A highly motivated, passionate team player.
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or similar
- Demonstrated experience in the practical application of Health and Safety in an industrial environment
- Previous experience in any or all the following industries will be highly regarded - heavy industrial environment / aerodromes / hospitality / food safety.
- Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) and an awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, trending & reporting will be highly regarded
- Experience in project management will be highly regarded
