Health Safety Environment and Training Coordinator Barminco has successfully tendered for the exciting Bellevue Gold Project located approximately 40km north-east of Leinster in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region. Operated by Bellevue Gold Limited, Bellevue is one of Australia’s highest-grade underground gold mines, achieving commercial production in 2024 and positioned for significant long-term growth. 

This major underground operation combines industry-leading mining practices with a strong sustainability focus, including a hybrid renewable energy power station designed to supply more than 80% of the site’s power requirements through renewable energy sources. 

About the Role 

As part of this project, Barminco is seeking experienced and motivated Health Safety Environment and Training Coordinators to join the team on a full-time basis (8/6 FIFO ROSTER ex Perth, or variation of). These roles are integral to delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations at the Bellevue Gold Mine while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Bellevue Gold Mine.  

Your role will support underground production within a high-performing team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement. 

Reporting to the Project Manager, with a strong functional relationship with our central HSET team, we have several opportunities for well experienced, passionate health and safety professionals to join us.   

What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like? 

You will influence and provide expert advice for how we manage and improve our safety systems, leadership and performance on site in line with Barminco Group safety strategies.   

You will act as an expert advisor with your project manager, and you will analyse and assess safety systems and leadership on your site. You will identify improvement initiatives and champion ongoing development of safety culture and safety leadership at your site. 

Our Ideal Candidate Background Includes 

  • Previous experience in underground mining will be highly regarded but is not essential; your ability to demonstrate relevant industry experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong in working with and influencing a front-line operational workforce.
  • Confidence and capability in collating, reporting and presenting safety performance data including written and verbal presentations and interface with clients.
  • A strong understanding and experience in the practical application of risk-based safety principles and systems in a mining context
  • Demonstrated capability in progressive safety leadership – moving beyond compliance focus to leadership, effective safety systems and personal behaviours
  • Capability to review and suggest recommendations for safety systems design, strategy and improvement plans/initiatives
  • Leading safety audits and inspections to develop and implement improvement plans utilising ICAM program and approach
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite, INX LMS Training software & SAI360 safety data analysis software
