Health & Safety Improvement Coordinator
Work Location: Chichester Hub
- Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
The purpose of this role is to provide a high level of HSES compliance assurance, business improvement and alignment to Safety Management Systems and Management Plans for the Chichester Hub (the hub). This is achieved by auditing, reviewing processes/procedures, and continually looking to ensure alignment and integration of the hub model. The role is part of the hubs HSES SLT, reporting directly to the hub Manager Health and Safety, but also responsible for supporting HSES Superintendents across the hub.
In addition to this, the role is expected to drive a consistent approach to health, safety, security, and emergency services management and application of HSES management processes across the hub and its associated site contract partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining processes to ensure compliance to Major Hazards,HS control standards and meet legislative requirements and obligations.
- To deliver on high level site compliance and systems related tasksincluded in the HSES strategic plan and contribute to the development of HS objectives and targets for the hub.
- Ensuringtimely reporting oversight to external regulators in all areas of HS compliance.
- Undertaking statistical reporting and trend analysis in all aspects of HSES for thehub.
- Improving the design and use of existing risk and safety management practices, procedures, and software solutions to meet contemporary industry standards and organisational requirements.
- Help to ensure opportunities to foster alignment are maximized across the HSES function.
- Flexibility to provide HS team membercoverage as and when suits/required by site operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Risk Management, Law or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health and safety working in the resource sector or regulatory authority
