Roster: 5/2 roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based at our new Hazelmere R&D facility, we are looking for a highly experienced Health and Safety Professional to lead the Green Fleet projects in all facets of Health and Safety.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Providing visible leadership to Health, Safety, Emergency Response and Process Safety team members
- Developing and executing a resource plan reflecting the needs of the Green Fleet business, as well as processes to ensure these needs are met
- Coaching the Green Fleet Heads of Department and H&S team members to ensure ongoing development of the team and recognition of performance
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the FFI business Health Safety and Process Safety Management System
- Providing guidance to team members on the effective implementation of Green Fleet specific project Health and Safety deliverables
- Championing the Contractor Management System and the Major Hazards Management projects
- Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all Health and Safety performance reporting
- Monitoring the implementation of H&S improvement projects and cost reduction initiatives
Qualifications and skills required:
- Previous experience working in a senior H&S leadership role ideally in the resource sector
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or equivalent
- Strong understanding and application of legislative and regulatory requirements specifically with chemical safety - green hydrogen and ammonia experience highly advantageous
- Previous experience with chemical safety risk management strategies and systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and build effective relationships at all levels
- Strategic planning and project management skills with an understanding of budget administration
- Well-developed leadership, coaching and facilitation skills
