The Role
An opportunity has been created due to current and future growth at our Tritton Copper Operations in regional NSW for a H&S Superintendent reporting to the HSET Manager.  The H&S Superintendent will support and drive change on site across the health and safety, injury management, emergency management, and site security functions. With an experienced and dedicated team, this role requires a motivated and passionate HSET professional who wants to affect change in an organization.
  
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to innovation and a drive to implement contemporary HSET practices. As a collaborative and consultative leader, you will have the ability to leverage interpersonal relationships across site to deliver required business outcomes.
  
Key responsibilities include:
  
  • Lead and foster a culture of HSET best practice across the operation.
  • Drive visible site leadership and safety engagement.
  • Monitor and assure compliance to statutory obligations and permit conditions within the health, safety, environment, and operational risk spectrum.
  • Review and optimize our ‘in field’ control and verification processes (eg audits and inspections, task observations, critical control verification)
  • Analyse operational health and safety performance and practically apply solutions to reduce risk.
  • Revise, update, and rollout Principal Risk Management Plans
  • Undertake the planning, organization, and execution of external and internal regulatory audits.
  • Guide the development and maintenance of HSET policies, organizational procedures, and operating standards.
  
About You
  
  • Qualifications in WHS, Risk Management or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading HSET teams in heavy industry preferably underground mining environment
  • Proven organizational leadership in the key areas of risk management, incident investigation and safety leadership.
  • Experience with Health Surveillance and Emergency Management planning
  • Experience with formal risk management processes and planning

The Operation

Tritton Copper Operations is a long life copper operation located near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in central New South Wales that commenced production in 2005. One hundred percent owned and operated by Aeris Resources, Tritton forms the cornerstone of Aeris copper production.
Tritton comprises an underground mining complex feeding a 1.8 million tonne per annum conventional processing plant. Copper concentrate produced at the operation is railed to the Port of Newcastle for export to customers internationally. The current mine plan for Tritton extends to FY2030.
